  1. Meet Diet-to-Go Health Coach Rebecca Mohning

When someone loses weight, it often goes far beyond the pounds on the scale. It permeates into other aspects of their life, such as their confidence, their job performance, their health, even their drive to do something outside their comfort zone.

That’s what Rebecca Mohning, Diet-to-Go’s health coach, said is one of the best things about helping people change their lives.

“They are more positive, they buy new clothes, they wear makeup again,” Rebecca said. “They feel better and make a lot of other changes in their lives. They also might do things they always wanted to, like training for an Ironman or another race.”

Rebecca has consulted with Diet-to-Go since 2003, and she also works directly with customers as their health coach. Health coaching is a free service provided to Diet-to-Go customers that allows them to create an individualized plan to accompany their delicious, balanced, nutritious meals.*

Customers interested in working with Rebecca set up a phone call to learn about what changes would work best for them and what steps to take to reach their goals.

And they’re getting one heck of a health coach, too.

Rebecca is a Registered Dietitian, Exercise Physiologist and a board-certified Sports Dietitian with more than 15 years of experience helping people lose weight, exercise, eat right and get healthy.

She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics in 1998 and went on to earn a master’s in Exercise Physiology in 2000. She also obtained an Exercise Physiologist Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine.

“I can read EKGs and cardiac rehab … and I use it for personal training,” Rebecca said.

Rebecca started a private practice, Expert Nutrition, in 2003.

“That entails nutrition counseling, health coaching and personal training,” she said. “I work with people who are trying to lose or gain weight, who may have eating disorders, who want to lower cholesterol, that sort of stuff.”

She has also worked with athletes, everything from triathletes and long-distance runners to college athletes, cyclists and more.

“I know how to tell an athlete what to eat if they’re training for a race if they’re a triathlete, for example,” she said. “And maybe they want to lose weight while training, or they have an allergy, or a medical condition. I have to know all those areas.”

In essence, Rebecca is an expert general practitioner of health and wellness. She has appeared on TV shows, magazines and newspapers, as well as conducted workshops, worked as a personal trainer and privately consulted with countless people to help them meet their individual goals.

And, she’s here to help Diet-to-Go customers achieve theirs.

Rebecca said one of the things that she loves most about working with Diet-to-Go is that the food is not “diet-y.”

“They’re just healthy foods that are the proper portion sizes. I like that concept a lot,” she said. “I think that’s a real eye-opener for people, realizing they don’t have to eat food that tastes diet-y — that they can eat what they want or something that tastes good.”

She also is a fan of how convenient the food is for people.

“They can have meals four days, five days, seven days — whatever they need,” she said. “They can have some of their own, or all meals can be provided. … They have a lot of variety. They can stay on it to reach their goals, or just as a way to eat healthy to maintain their weight.”

And that’s a big deal, because in her experience (and remember, she has a LOT of it), one of the biggest things people struggle with when it comes to weight loss is not having time to cook or knowing what to make.

“Now there’s no excuses. They get Diet-to-Go to do all of that for them,” she said.

Rebecca said Diet-to-Go’s high standards and nutrition make it easy for people, too.

“It’s the right balance between protein, fats and carbs,” she said. “Diet-to-Go has the largest selection and they always seem to beat everyone else. With other programs, people are always saying the quality isn’t good, and they tend to be diet-y, with really tiny portions, or more bland.”

Rebecca said she’s excited to work with customers to keep them accountable and to see the impact it will have on their lives.

“It can be a lonely world when you’re trying to lose weight. You really need a support system to be successful,” Rebecca said. “A food program is great. Having someone to direct those emotional eating moments, to talk about other strategies and the other parts of wellness, I focus on that with the customers.”

Rebecca said ultimately, she gets to help customers focus on the bigger picture.

“I get to help them maintain that weight loss journey and help them not fall off,” she said.

And she’s here to help Diet-to-Go customers achieve theirs.
