  1. Fat Tuesday: 7 Outrageous Restaurant Meals to Run From!

My Facebook friend Betsy sent her old pal Mr. Bad Food a recent post lamenting the "salad" she ate at a neighborhood Chili's. The post -- reprinted below -- got me thinking it's time to start looking at some of the worst foods on the menu at some of our favorite fast food/sit-down casual kind of joints.

So in honor of "Fat Tuesday" -- you can check out the history of this day here at Wikipedia -- Mr. Bad Food is serving up a 7-course menu of eat-out foods you must bypass before your heart needs a bypass!

Coming in at number seven on today's list is the meal nominated by my pal Betsy.

"Yesterday was eye-opening... I had a "Quesadilla Explosion SALAD" (yes, SALAD)...and it was over 1,250 calories, and 70-something fat grams!!! On Weight Watchers it's 23 points, and with the oatmeal I had for breakfast - that was my limit (26 pts)... Betsy sipped calming tea for the rest of the day..."

Please check out the list and then nominate your favorite bad foods -- meals or fast food picks that wrecked your diet and left you moaning for mercy -- by emailing Mr. Bad Food at [email protected]. Mr. Bad Food will run the best of the worst in future Hall of Shame blogs!

Okay so this is a start... a beginning of the end for you and me making really poor menu choices at our favorite eateries.

We may be on a diet but that doesn't mean we won't find ourselves pushed into a night out with friends or family. And that's a good thing -- you do need to get out and lead a normal life.

But let's just be careful out there. There are plenty of dietary landmines just waiting to trip us up in our quest for better health!

NOTE: The above meals were chosen at random using data from the actual restaurants or from independent nutrition counters like www.TheDailyPlate.com.
